Windows XP SP3的RTM版已經就緒，另，用戶可於4月29日下載SP3

不久前Vista SP1才剛剛釋出，馬上就又看到XP SP3的消息了。據微軟消息，SP3的RTM（Release To Manufacture，給工廠大量壓製的版本）版已經就緒。

此外，更重要的是，XP SP3的版本，將於4月29日，可以由Windows Update，以及微軟下載中心取得。據說裝了SP3之後，XP可以提升10％的效能（雖然不是微軟官方的說明，也不知真偽，不過SP3的正式下載，大概會讓還在用XP的朋友，繼續固守在XP，而不跳至Vista吧）。

[2008 地球日]華碩&Intel 的地球日宣言

這是華碩特別為地球日打造的木質外殼筆記型電腦，圖前方的這台是 ASUS U6 筆記型電腦，背部那台是 ASUS S6。

就是地球日的活動，華碩老董施崇棠講綠色績效：

• OeKom 歐洲環保評比機構，2007年獲得電腦產業環保績效評比第一名，勝過Dell、HP 和 Acer，是50年來華人首度得到的殊榮。


• 節能方面：參與 Intel 拯救氣候的行動。


• 華碩幫地球每年減少800萬公噸的二氧化碳，等於種下690萬顆樹。


• 2006年推出台灣第一片的無鉛主機板，第一家做到綠色設計，WEEE 綠色易拆解、易回收再利用的處理系統，並應用於美國市場（那在地呢？）建置資訊產品回收體系。
  


• 和慈濟一起推動（兩間總部很近阿！）電腦回收。

Intel：

• 開發無鉛無鹵的環保製程，


• High-k 金屬閘極材質為基礎的 45nm 製程。


• 電腦產業拯救氣候行動計畫

燦坤：

• 擔任回收平台，讓消費者把要回收的電腦丟到燦坤，可以換華碩電腦的折價卷，5月1日開始實施。

美國加州考慮課徴線上下載稅

看到這則新聞咱們可一點也不意外，美國加州正在研究對「線上下載」課稅的可能性，沒錯，從音樂到影片、書籍，都在他們考慮的範圍之內，也就是說，將來從iTunes上下載專輯或是在Kindle上買本電子書，都有可能被課稅，這當然不是政府第一次打這種主意。

事實上，美國有些州已經開始課徵「線上下載稅」，只是在預算赤字的年代，看到線上下載所帶來的無限商機，真的不能怪這些立法人員們想為政府多創造點收入。課徴線上下載稅這個議題所牽扯的層面很廣，咱們報導這則新聞也並非要求大家馬上表明立場，不過或許可以在看完閱讀連結的報導後，開始想想自己的意見。

"tokidoki for MIMOBOT" USB drives come preloaded with mimoZine digital magazine

Mimoco, maker of the popular Mimobot designer USB flash drives, has partnered with tokidoki, the brand created by pop fashion designer Simone Legno, to create the tokidoki for MIMOBOT series. This newest group of flash drives is part of Mimoco's MMOBOT Artist Series, and comes in three different characters, each priced at $39.95: Pirate Nero, Pistaio, and Meletta.

Mimoco has released tokidoki for MIMOBOT preloaded with the second issue if its mimoZine, the first digital magazine delivered via flash drive. This pop culture magazine features interviews with Japanese pop-rock artists, videos of art events, and musical videos.

超酷小巧的 Chinavasion 7" Wii LCD

想要隨時隨地Wii一下，但自製一款Wii筆電並不容易，不過我們還有另外的選擇--等廠家來做。7吋480 x 234螢幕，內建立體聲揚聲器，AV端子，亮度/對比度可調，防止燒機的散熱孔也是必不可少的。順便說一句，比起另一款Wii LCD來說，這款外觀更配Wii一些。似乎是通過揚聲器上方的紅外線埠來接受Wiimote控制的，不失美觀。價格嘛，不含Wii 100美元（新台幣3000元）差不多了，當然量大還有優惠。

微軟專利申請秀出穿戴式滑鼠操控概念

現在的滑鼠，無論是光學還是雷射，就算再好，也還是要在一片寬廣的平面使用。而在微軟最近的專利申請文件當中，出現了不需要桌面的周邊裝置，那就是穿戴式滑鼠（或是說穿戴式指向裝置？）。

不過，穿戴式滑鼠並不是一個新的創意，但看來微軟應該是其中可以做得比較好的廠商。從上圖可以看得出來，就算你戴上它，依然可以很正常使用鍵盤打字。游標的移動，看起來應該是依靠手姿。此外，在這指向裝置上，還有個某種迴轉儀感應器，內有加速以及磁力裝置，能夠更進一步使用手勢，以及位置感應。

只是，並沒有這個裝置量產的時程表，看來要等到使用該款產品的這一天是相當困難呀。
